Deep copper colour, lifted and powerful Pinot nose of dark cherries, chocolate, spice, and black fruits. Very 'burgundian'. The cepage is 50% Pinot from Bouzy and 50% Pinot from Les Riceys comes as no surprise. Very much an expression of pinot-powerful yet refined. It has enough backbone to match with game meats etc. where other Champagnes may falter. The bouzy component giving structure to the blend while the Les Riceys component lives up to the regions reputation for its vinous and lifted perfume. Fine bead, good texture with a long full finish. Top flight Rose and worthy of flagship status. 93 pts D.D.
